Platform terms for shops

Last updated: October 16, 2026

These terms apply between MaxiBase, who runs this platform, and every shop that uses it to sell online. Each shop's own terms and privacy policy apply between the shop and its customers.

The service

The platform hosts your shop on your domain: your products and pages, the cart and checkout, and the emails for orders and contact messages. We may change or improve features, but we don't remove essential ones without telling you in advance.

Your access

You keep your sign-in details secret and are responsible for what is done with your admin access. Tell us right away if you think someone else used it.

Payments

Payments go to your own Stripe account, connected to the platform with Stripe Connect. You are the seller: you receive the payments, handle refunds and disputes, and Stripe's fees are charged to your account. Stripe's terms for connected accounts apply between you and Stripe. We never hold your money.

Our fee

1% of each payment goes to the platform, taken automatically by Stripe when the payment is made. It is not returned when you refund an order or lose a dispute. We announce any change of the fee by email at least 30 days in advance.

Your obligations

You comply with the law that applies to your sales, including consumer protection, product safety, taxes and VAT, and you give your customers the terms, privacy policy and contact details the law requires. You sell nothing illegal, nothing Stripe prohibits, and no counterfeit or dangerous goods.

You hold the rights to the texts and images you publish, and you allow us to host and show them to provide the service.

Customer data

You are responsible for your customers' personal data. We process it only on your behalf to provide the service, keep it secure and confidential, and don't use it for our own purposes. Our providers, such as hosting, email and Stripe, process it as needed for the service.

Availability

We do our best to keep the platform available and secure, but can't guarantee it works without interruption. When possible, maintenance is done at quiet times. Keep your own copy of your important content.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the damage, and we are not liable for indirect damage, lost profit, or the services of Stripe and other third parties. This does not apply to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence.

Ending the service

You can stop using the platform at any time by disconnecting your Stripe account and telling us. We can end the service with 30 days' notice, or right away if you seriously breach these terms. Afterwards we delete your shop's data within 90 days, except what the law requires us to keep.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We tell you by email or in your shop's settings, and you accept the new version to keep using the platform.

Applicable law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts at the operator's place of residence have jurisdiction.
